Privacy Policy
Your notes stay on your Mac.
Last updated: August 3, 2026
MoorNote does not collect, transmit, sell, or share personal information or usage data. The app has no account system, advertising, tracking, analytics SDK, crash-reporting service, or cloud sync.
Data stored on your Mac
For up to five notes, MoorNote stores the title, body text, window position, folded state, and last docked edge. It also stores shared display preferences such as “Always on Top” and “Show Only the Sailboat When Folded.” This information is saved with macOS UserDefaults inside MoorNote’s app sandbox and remains within your macOS user account.
Data retention and deletion
Your information remains on your Mac until you edit or delete it. You can delete an individual note from MoorNote after a confirmation prompt. To remove all notes and preferences, quit MoorNote and delete its app container from ~/Library/Containers/<Bundle ID>. This action cannot be undone, so copy anything you need first.
Permissions and network access
MoorNote runs in the App Sandbox. It does not request access to your network, contacts, calendars, location, camera, microphone, or personal folders.
Children’s privacy
MoorNote does not collect personal data from users of any age.
Changes and contact
This policy may be updated when MoorNote’s features change. The date above will be revised whenever that happens. For privacy questions, visit the MoorNote Support page.
